Teacher's welcome letter, 2009.
I am Mr. Milsaint, but you can call me Lee. I am thrilled to be your child's teacher for this new year. I am originally
from the beautiful Island of Haiti and have been teaching for about 7 years.
My goal for this year is to introduce a series of techniques that will enable my students to feel comfortable in class
and work more effectively. For that to happen, you (parent) and I need to work in close relationship.
I want my students to understand that education is the only way out to a better future. I want to inspire them to love
school and set good goals for the years ahead. In the development of character, I want to incorporate values into my daily
classroom program.
This will maintain high standards of discipline by creating and maintaining a classroom climate permeated by the human
values of Love, Truth, Peace, Right-Conduct and Non-Violence. It will enable students to peacefully and effectively discourage
harassment and bullying and encourage kindness, tolerence and an appreciation for the unity of all people and cultures.
I want to instill in children a lifelong love for vertue, helping them to acquire and foster positive values for
a righteous character, which will enable them todo the right thing and become resposible citizens. Education, I believe, is
illumination and the journey of transformation.
I am optimistic that this year is going to be an accomplished year for your child. Please don't hesitate to call
me regarding your child. I am in my office from Monday to Friday: 8-8:30 and after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays 14:30-15:30
pm.
Thank you for your co-oporation and your assistance and I am looking forward to meeting you.
Milsaint Valcin.
